Frequently Asked Questions
You've got questions. We've got answers!
Can you tell me what kinds of equipment you provide?
You can browse our amazing Equipment Page and see the scope of all that we provide here! But that’s not all… we can do most everything you or your therapists can imagine. If we don’t carry it, we will look into being a provider of that equipment or we will refer you to someone that does.
Do you provide adaptive bikes and trikes?
Yes! We do every kind of adaptive bike, trike, tag-along, tandem systems, and many other recreational mobility devices. We are able to order adaptive bikes and trikes from most small and large manufacturers. We also have our own shop where we can custom modify them.
Do you provide follow up appointments after my child gets his orthotics, wheelchair or other equipment?
Yes, we do rechecks every 6-12 months, and we offer adjustments anytime there is a need. Occasionally, a child needs a different type of orthotic in between our scheduled follow up appointments, and we do our best to provide all the services your child needs.
Do you offer power wheelchairs?
Yes. We offer the traditional style power wheelchairs as well as power add-ons for manual wheelchairs. These add-ons make the chair versatile in most anvironments, allowing your child to explore in ways the wouldn't typically be able to with a manual wheelchair alone. This makes the chair very versatile for most environments, and allows your child the most options for them to functionally propel their chair.
How do I know if you accept my insurance?
If you don’t see your insurance on our list, the best way to find out is by calling us! It is also helpful to call your insurance provider and ask them to inform you of both your “In network” and “out of network” benefits for durable medical equipment.
If you see my child when he is in the birth to three program, who does he see for his equipment after he turns 3 years old?
We continue to see children after they graduate from the Birth to 3 program. As long as your child has a need and you are happy with our services, we will follow them all the way up to adulthood.
My child needs a set of orthotics, how many visits will this take, and how long before he gets them?
It usually takes just 2 visits, scheduled 3 weeks apart. We do an evaluation, and take measurements, or cast molds at the first appointment and then 3 weeks later we fit and give you the orthotics that day.
What ages do you see in your practice?
We specialize in seeing children from Birth to 18 years old. We will accept patients over 18 years old, but they have to meet certain criteria that will be discussed with them and their family at the time of referral.
What kind of orthotics do you provide?
We have developed many new and innovative orthotics over the years for any body part that needs support. We are confident that we can meet your child’s needs in this area with the best fitting and functional product. For more information please see our Orthotics Page.
Where do you see children for appointments?
We have our main location, and three outreach clinics spread out across northeastern Wisconsin. We discuss with the parent when we set up our first appointment where the best location would be to see your child. We do home visits for medically fragile children, and in certain circumstances for other children when we need to see the layout of the home to determine the best equipment for them and the family.
